Carlisle woman made nuisance 999 calls, court told

A woman who repeatedly made nuisance 999 calls has been given a suspended prison sentence after a judge was told that she had suffered a major trauma some time ago.
Jacqueline Cameron, 49, of Green Lane, Belle Vue, admitted two counts of making nuisance phone calls on dates at the beginning of July. Her defence lawyer, Lauren Heasley, said Cameron was now getting counselling and felt positive about the future.
Judge Gerald Chalk, sitting at Carlisle Magistrates Court, noted that until the year 2000 she had led a blameless life.
He sentenced her to 70 days prison, suspending the term for a year.
He added a condition that she attend an alcohol awareness programme and a residential mental health treatment programme.
He added that she should pay court costs of £85.
