Wrestlers are ready to rumble in Carlisle, with the city set to stage a night of “high-flying, bone-crunching” action.

A string of competitors will grapple for glory on what is being billed as “the biggest night of pro-wrestling” the city has seen.

Organisers also expect the sport to gain a hold in north Cumbria over the next two years following this evening of combat action. Carlisle-based Target Wrestling is putting on the show at The Venue in Englishgate Plaza, Botchergate, next month, promising a night that can be enjoyed by all the family.

Among those competing will be Dave Nattrass, from Harraby, Carlisle, who has been described as “one of the best wrestlers to come out of the north of England over the last decade”.

A spokesman for Target Wrestling said Nattrass would “receive one of the loudest reactions of the night” when he walks out in front of friends and family.

“He has been perfecting his craft in pro-wrestling for the last decade and has built an army of fans from all over the region,” said the spokesman.

“Carlisle will go crazy – but it will feel even better if he walks out of The Venue with a huge win.”

The bill also contains wrestlers from across the UK. The spokesman added: “The show marks the first date of a new exclusive two-year deal signed with The Venue.”

Other wrestlers competing at the show, on September 12, include BT Gunn, Johnny “The Vigilante” Moss, Kasey Owens, Kay Lee Ray and Chris Renfrew.

“This will be the biggest night of pro-wrestling Carlisle has ever seen,” said the spokesman.

Tickets are £10 for adults and £8 for children. There is an offer available of any four tickets for £30. They are available from skiddle.com or on the door on the night.

Those interested can go to targetwrestling.com on September 10, when a show will be broadcast at 8pm so viewers can familiarise themselves with the fighters involved.
