Carlisle robbery bid: Police issue description

Police have advised members of the public not to approach a man following an attempted robbery in Carlisle this afternoon.

It happened at Ladbrokes, Scotch Street, at 3.30pm.

Officers want to speak to a bald headed white man, aged 35-45 years and about 5ft 8in to 5ft 10in tall.

He was wearing a black jacket, white polo type shirt with horizontal stripes across, dark trousers and white trainers.

A police statement says: "As a precaution, police are asking anyone who sees this man not to approach him but to call Cumbria police immediately."

No one was injured in the robbery bid.

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
