Carlisle race abuse woman was drunk
Last updated at 13:18, Wednesday, 27 February 2013
A woman who used racially aggravated threatening behaviour told a court: “I was drunk and it should never have happened.”
Cheryl Evans, 42, of Marina Crescent, Currock, Carlisle, admitted the offence during a brief court appearance before magistrates.
Prosecutor Jane Mackrill described how police officers saw the defendant and another person standing around an east European man, and Evans, leaning into the man’s face, angrily told him: “The police will tell you to get out of the country.”
The defendant said the situation had become heated and she behaved stupidly.
She was fined £100 and told to pay a victim’s surcharge of £11 and £85 court costs.
