Carlisle man charged over 'racially offensive' comment about Mikaeel Kular death

A teenager has been charged after allegedly posting racist abuse on Facebook following the death of a three-year-old boy.

Warren Butler, 19, from Carlisle, is accused of putting a racially offensive comment on the social networking site in relation to the death of toddler Mikaeel Kular.

Butler has been charged with improper use of a communications network under section 127 of the Communications Act (2003).

The teenager, who was investigated by Hampshire Police, was one of two people arrested for allegedly posting comments on internet social networks.

Butler has been bailed to attend Aldershot Magistrates’ Court on February 13.

The second case was being investigated by police in Derbyshire.

Rosdeep Kular, 33, has been charged under her married name of Adekoya with the murder of her son, Mikaeel, who went missing from his home in Edinburgh on January 15.

His remains were found the two days later in woodland in Kirkcaldy, Fife.

She is also charged with attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
