Carlisle homes hit by power cut

Homes in part of Carlisle were without power this morning, with residents warned it could be off for most of the day.

Electricity North West said 29 properties in the Cummersdale area were affected.

The fault, at the local sub station, occurred at 2.52am.

Engineers were at the scene trying to rectify the problem but warned it could be 4pm before power is restored.

Those residents living directly on the fault area were told it could be as late as 10pm.
