A DANCE troupe have got through to the final of a national competition.
The eight-strong squad of Carlisle-based Nixon’s Vixens will be hoping to take home the winner’s trophy later this month when they compete in the final of the Festival for Stars.
Dance teacher Amanda Nixon said she was “over the moon” when they won the regional heats stage.
This is the second time a squad from Nixon’s Vixens have won through to the final of the competition.
The last time was two years ago when they were beaten by an all-boys’ group called Rough Diamond.
“Hopefully it will be second-time lucky,” said Amanda.
Some of her students have also been chosen to take part in another competition at Gretna Gateway on Sunday.
