Carlisle council leader’s budget warning

Carlisle is facing a tougher budget next year than had been expected in the wake of tighter Government cuts it has been revealed.
@Michael Owen - "God help us" - Sorry Michael, but as God is an imaginary construct, he is unlikely to help you or anyone else. Having said that, if I was absolutely desperate for help, I'd count on the fictitious being before I'd look to the likes of Farage. Come to think of it, the tooth fairy offers more hope of salvation than him.
I was interested to read that councillor Hendry says we should ask the "EU" for some money. We give Brussels, ie "The EU" £53million a day, or £1-5billion a month, they give back to us half a billion of our own money!! If we did not send this money to the "EU" in the first place we would have an extra BILLION PER MONTH to sort out our own problems. What a crazy world we live in, but I bet the voters of this country will still elect a lab or con government at the next election. God help us.

Have your say
If turkeys could vote there would not be a "turkey" Xmas.
Surely we do not need to ring the necks of our Councillors to drastically reduce their numbers ...or do we?
