Car flips over after crash on Carlisle street

A car with the slogan This Side Up! on its roof toppled over after the driver was blinded by bright sunshine.

Police said the bright weather was believed to be responsible for the crash on Etterby Street, Carlisle, at 8.40am today when the Volkswagen Up collided with a parked vehicle.
The 25-year-old driver was taken to hospital with hand injuries following the accident, close to the junction with Scotland Road.
PC Andrew Hunter said the car flipped over because of its light weight.
