Busy west Cumbrian road closed to traffic for two days

A temporary road closure will be put in place on Cockermouth Main Street today.

Cumbria County Council is closing the road to traffic in both directions from its junction with Station Street to Cocker Bridge.

The surfacing and road marking work is due to take two days and is planned for today and tomorrow.

Pedestrian access will be maintained.

A diversion route for traffic to Market Place (and vice-versa) is via Sullart Street/A66/Dubwath /C2064. There will be no traffic management restrictions or traffic lights on Kirkgate, St Helen’s Street or Castlegate during the work.
