Busy day for mountain rescue team

Mountain rescue volunteers were called out twice in five hours.

Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team received its first call at 9.55am on Saturday, when a climber broke his leg at Raven Crag, Great Langdale.

The team was called again at 2.45pm, when a party of five was reported cragfast on Jack’s Rake, with one suffering upper leg ligament or muscle injuries.

An RAF helicopter was called to recover the casualty.
