New timetable for Hadrian's Wall bus service

The new timetable for the Hadrian’s Wall Country Bus – AD122 – has been released in time for the holiday season.

The service runs from tomorrow until Sunday, October 30 providing access to points along the 150-mile Hadrian’s Wall World Heritage Site.

The service runs from Newcastle Central Station and Carlisle with connecting services to Bowness-on-Solway, shuttling between the main Roman sites in the central section of Hadrian’s Wall.

Bryan Scott, sustainable access officer for Hadrians Wall Heritage said: “We’ve seen year-on-year increase in bus passengers since we launched the service in 2006.

“In 2010 over 42,000 people used the bus. We’ve achieved that through marketing and responding to passenger feedback in our annual survey to improve the service.

“The AD122 means you can get to the archaeological sites along the wall and see the wonderful scenery without having to drive.”
