A woman has won national recognition for her online girls’ clothing company.
Joanne Bowmer, 28, of Main Road, Seaton, set up Baby CoCo Bella two months ago after struggling to find affordable high quality dresses for her daughter Tallulah, two.
She was given a #WOW award by Jacqueline Gold, owner of Ann Summers, who runs the campaign on social networking website Twitter.
Every week, Ms Gold gives awards to three businesses which have strong brands and the potential to grow and succeed.
Mrs Bowmer, who runs her business from home, said: “It really was my daughter who inspired this business. We call her Tallulah tutu because she loves wearing tutus.
“The business is still very young but going really well and we’ve had loads of interest from people locally because they see my daughter at play group in the outfits and want to know where they’re from.”
Mrs Bowmer tweeted Ms Gold with an overview of her business.
She then got a message back from Ms Gold saying that she thought her dresses for girls, newborn to seven, were “beautiful” and retweeted the business on to her 30,000 followers.
The award means Mrs Bowmer will get ongoing support and business advice from Ms Gold’s team and will get to meet her in person.
Mrs Bowmer, who is married to Ashley, 30, and also has a son Grayson, one, sells Chanel-inspired jackets and tutu-style dresses.
