Two popular Lake District cafés have been sold.

Wild Strawberry, in Main Street, Keswick and Potted Out, in Stock Lane, Grasmere, both have new owners.

The 62-seat Keswick venue, which is set over two floors, was sold for an undisclosed price to Chris and Emma Bray, who have just moved to Ullswater.

Its previous owners were Gary and Donna Macrae, who want to focus on their award-winning Hazel Bank guest house in Rosthwaite, Borrowdale.

In a separate deal, Mr and Mrs Bray also took on Miller Howe cafe in Grasmere prior to closing it for a total refurbishment.

Agents Colliers International sold Potted Out, which has indoor seating for 40 people and al fresco seating for another 48, for £695,000 to Beth and Paul Abbott, who plan a complete refurbishment of the café and have also just acquired Lake View Country House in Grasmere.
