A CARLISLE nursery has been nominated for a prestigious business award by a mum who sends her kids there.
Stone Eden Nursery, at Warwick-on-Eden, will compete in the Small Business of the Year category in the CN Group Business Awards 2008.
The company’s name was put forward by Brampton mum Sarah Briggs, who has two children at the nursery.
She said: “When moving to Cumbria from Bristol in December 2007, we were concerned that such a big move should not be traumatic for our young children.
“We visited Stone Eden and were immediately impressed by the facilities, the friendliness, professionalism and enthusiasm of the staff and the fact our daughter, who was not quite two at the time, loved the nursery.
“Since starting there our children have come in leaps and bounds and speaking to other parents I know that other people feel the same way.
“I find it hard to speak too highly of the nursery and always feel happy when I’ve been there – and often my children don’t want to come home!”
The CN Group Awards 2008 aim to celebrate the achievements of businesses and individuals throughout Cumbria.
CN Group owns and publishes the News & Star.
Sponsors are David Allen Accountants; the Cumberland Building Society; HSBC; the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority; Business Link Northwest; Invest in Cumbria; Burnetts Solicitors; and the Redhall Group.
