West Cumbrian singing sensation Cory Spedding this week had an audition for Britain’s Got Talent.

Cory, 21, travelled from Whitehaven to Glasgow for the audition and must wait until after Christmas to find out if she has been successful.

The mum-of-one said: “It was a really positive audition but I really will just have to wait and see. I sang a classical song called La Bello to sort of give the shock factor and I dressed in a modern and quite whacky way. We were told that we were only allowed to sing the chorus but they let me sing the whole song.

“There were literally thousands of people there to audition. I’m just trying not to think about it now.”

Cory, who was a Junior Eurovision finalist and News & Star Reach for the Stars competition winner, has also had an audition for the TV show The Voice.

She said: “I’ve been to Glasgow about four times for auditions in the last few weeks – it’s costing me a fortune.

“I felt like that audition went really well and I sang my heart out but you just never know. I’m waiting to here back from them as well.

“I also had an audition for the BBC’s Live & Unsigned 2012. Despite making it through to the semi-final I never got through that one. I think they were looking for more of an acoustic performance.

“It was a really good experience just to get that far.”

Cory, who is engaged to Chris, has been singing since she was 10.

She recently got down to the last 25 girls at The X Factor’s boot camp in Liverpool.
