A 13-year-old boy and 15-year-old girl have been arrested in connection with an alleged racist incident.

Police were called to Furness Road in Workington after a security guard reported being verbally abused by two boys and a girl.

The victim, a 45-year-old man, was walking along the road at about 7.15pm on Monday when he claims racist comments were shouted at him.

The pair were subsequently arrested in connection with an offence of racially-aggravated abuse.

The teenagers from Workington have been released on bail.
