Botchergate revival plan will be 'active document' says senior councillor

Carlisle City Council has pledged that the latest plans to revive Botchergate will be implemented and not left to gather dust on a shelf at the Civic Centre.

Have your say

Active Document ?

Aspirational Document more like.

It means nothing, it has no teeth and will achieve nothing.

I wish this new administration would deal with thing inside of their control. I fear we are going to see more borrowing for White Elephants that leave nothing but an invoice at the end.

Start from the bottom and work up - with a bull dozer. Botchergate is an absolute disgrace and something that most Carlisle residents are totally ashamed of.

Malcolm Craik, you've got no chance. Labour are about as interested in the rural areas as they are in 'sound finance'.

Carlisle well and truly stops at the national speed limit signs on the outskirts of the city.

The council isnt really going to do anything that will impact Botchergate. If it improves or deteriorates it wont be because of the activities at the City Council.

To be honest, Botchergate isn't looking too bad these days (apart from Mood). The City Centre is actually slowly deteriorating before our eyes with all of the for sale, to let signs and empty shops!!

Where is Carlsile City Council getting the money to deliver this revival? Those of us who live in the rural areas are beginning to wonder when we can expect some money to spent in our communities!

Start by knocking down the railway inn, then the old tyre depot that will make a start
