Almost 20 members of Millom Bike Group followed the hearse in tribute as the funeral procession made its way from Mr Fursey’s former Devonshire Road home in Millom to St George’s Church.

Mr Fursey’s coffin had been decorated with photographic images of his family and friends.

His family paid tribute to a man who was “full of wisdom beyond his years”.

The 31-year-old, of Bolton Low Houses, died in a collision while riding his Yamaha motorbike on the A66 on October 2.

Speaking on behalf of the family, his brother Max Fursey said: “Paul loved life and all that it could offer.

“Wherever he went and wherever he worked he would always make friends aplenty, with his gregarious nature.

“A good friend of Paul’s said he was full of wisdom beyond his years and would often give surprisingly good advice while always trying to get his point across.

“When he needed some pocket money for the weekend he could be found DJing at the local nightclub, where he would thrive on all the attention bestowed upon him.

“In his spare time you could find him doing one of many things: pool, snooker and darts in the pub with the lads, or watching his beloved Liverpool FC.”

Mr Fursey worked at the Asda store in Workington.

Before his move from Millom he was bitten by the “bike bug” and joined Millom Bike Group.

Mr Fursey added: “Paul worked for Asda for several years and in that time he became a qualified accountant, which was a career path he was hoping to pursue in the future.

“When he got the bike bug he quickly became a member of Millom Bike Group.”

The final tribute came from Mr Fursey’s mum, Vivienne Fursey, who said: “I brought Paul into this world and he’ll always be my baby and will always be in my heart.”
