Last updated at 13:28, Thursday, 26 August 2010
Stars of the hit BBC drama Waterloo Road will swap the classroom for the football pitch this Sunday for a special celebrity soccer showcase in Whitehaven.
Actors Jack McMullen (who plays bad boy Finn Sharkey), Dean Smith (Phillip Ryan), Tachia Newall (Bolton Smilie) and William Ash (deputy head Christopher Mead) will all line up for the Celebrity XI against a Cumbria Combined Services team at Copeland Stadium, Hensingham.
Also in the line-up are soap stars Johnny Dixon (Darryl Morton from Coronation Street) and Emmerdale duo Luke Tittensor, who played Daz Eden, and Danny Miller (Aaron Livesy).
A host of Shameless stars will also take to the field, including Ciaran Griffiths and Nick Evans, who play the brothers Mickey and Shane Maguire, as well as two Gallagher brothers, Ian and Carl (Ged Kearns and Elliot Tittensor).
And Ben Batt (Joe Pritchard) and Becky Atkinson (Karen Maguire), who are a couple on and off screen, have also been confirmed for the event, along with Philip Hill-Pearson, who plays newcomer to the show Bruce Donnelly.
The game has been organised by Andrew Sloan and proceeds will go to the Great North Air Ambulance.
The services team will be made up of firefighters, ambulance staff, police, lifeboat and mountain rescue teams.
The game kicks off at 3pm. Tickets are £5 per adult, £3 per child and £13 per family from Spar (Richmond) or Threads (King Street). To donate to the GNAA contact Andrew on 07920144407.
