Arrests after fight breaks out on train

Seven people were arrested after a fight broke out on a train between Carlisle and Workington last night.

Police were called to the trouble at about 10pm after reports of a brawl on the last train back to west Cumbria following last night's Fireshow.

The train had to stop at Wigton where several arrests were made before further arrests when the train arrived in Workington.

Seven people were arrested for public order offences and drunk and disorderly.

Police also confirmed pepper spray was used to detain some of those arrested.

I'd use local rail services more often but they're unreliable and expensive

I would have used the Sunday service

Our rail services are way behind most other countries. No wonder we rely so heavily on cars
