Armed police arrest man after threats to kill report

Armed police have arrested a man on suspicion of making threats to kill.

The 35-year-old is in custody and helping officers with their inquiries.

Police were called to Northside, Workington, at about 9.20pm yesterday (Friday) to a report that a man had made threats.

The armed officers stopped a Vauxhall Astra car and arrested the Workington man.

No-one was injured during the incident.

No firearms were found during a search of the car.
