Annual Christmas Remembrance Service today

The annual Christmas Remembrance Service will be held in Carlisle crematorium today.

Held within the Crematorium chapel, the festive service will begin at 3pm and is expected to last around half an hour.

Everyone is welcome to attend and can write a message to loved ones on a star or snowflake. They will be placed on one of the two trees of hope inside the chapel.

The Rev Keith Teasdale of St Cuthbert’s and Michael Cartlidge, Bereavement Services Team Leader are leading the service.

The Mayor of Carlisle, Ray Bloxham, and mayoress Olive Bloxham will be attending.

Donations will be made to the Mayor’s Charity Fund, the main beneficiaries of which are Carlisle Key, Samaritans Carlisle and the animal refuge at Wetheral.
