COCKERMOUTH Amateur Dramatic Society’s annual pantomime will ride into town next weekend when they perform Panto at the OK Corral.

Even though it is not traditional, Jim Sperrinck’s pantomime, which will be performed at the Kirkgate Centre, is full of great tunes and laugh-out-loud moments.

It tells of the evil Sheriff, played by Mike Goodwin, looking to get his hands on Dame Winnipeg’s land, her horse Lightning and her daughter Calamity Jane, played by pantomime newcomer Sam Jones.

Geoff Lawley plays Dame Winnipeg whose son Jessie James, played by James Allen, and hero Clint Westwood, played by Miriam Ulyatt, try to stop the Sheriff and his two incompetent deputies Butch Casserole and the Sun Tanned Kid, played by Stephen Cole and Andrew Kerr.

The cast also features Diamond Lil (Hannah Lewis), Buffalo Bill (Tony Magorrian), and the Injuns – Running Bare and Breaking Wind – played by Rowan Morgan and Matthew Lewis.

The pantomime looks to milk every Wild West cliche in the book and features wall-to-wall cowboy songs.

The pantomime will be performed on Friday January 18; Saturday January 19; Friday January 25 and Saturday January 26 at 7.30pm. There are 2.30pm matinee performances on the Saturdays.
