Workington's new KFC restaurant has surprised shoppers by opening a day early.
The company had initially announced it would open on Tuesday at 10am, but shoppers found the branch open today (MON).
A spokesman for KFC confirmed the opening was planned for tomorrow but management at the Lakes Road restaurant and drive-through decided to open a day in advance.
Phil Atkinson, KFC business operation manager, said the restaurant had created 60 jobs.
KFC first submitted proposals in 2011, but withdrew them the following year.
And in 2015, fresh plans were revealed for a site near the A595 at Lillyhall, then last year the application was lodged for the latest development.
This is the latest global franchise to open a restaurant in the town after Domino's opened a branch in Washington Square this summer.
