Woman taken to hospital following rush-hour collision
A 59-year-old woman has been taken to hospital following an early morning collision on a busy road in Wigton.
Traffic was brought to a standstill just before 7am following the incident on the A596 near Station Road.
The driver of a black Vauxhall Corsa, who was from the Wigton area, was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary with minor injuries.
A 54-year-old man driving a Ford Transit van, also from Wigton, was uninjured in the collision.
The road reopened just before 9am.
