A woman was taken to hospital with leg injuries following a crash near Carlisle.
She was initially trapped in her car and had to be freed by firefighters.
It happened on the A595 at Newby West, just outside the city, at about 9pm last night.
The woman, in her mid twenties, was driving a small hatchback car in the direction of Wigton.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident, which saw the car spin round and into a fence.
Firefighters from the Carlisle West and Carlisle East stations attended.
They removed a door to free the driver.
She suffered leg injuries and minor cuts and was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary for treatment.
