A man who committed a number of motoring offences - including allowing a passenger to sit in an unattached deckchair - has had his licence endorsed with eight penalty points.
Christopher Cooke, 36, did not appear before magistrates in Carlisle but the three offences, all committed on May 23, were proven in his absence.
Cooke, of Gelt Road, Brampton, was found to be driving a van without a valid licence and insurance and was also carrying the passenger in a deckchair.
At Carlisle’s magistrates’ court he was fined £220 for driving without the correct licence, £660 for driving without insurance and £220 for allowing the passenger to sit in the deckchair.
He must also pay costs of £151.
