Van carrying old washing machines found ablaze
Firefighters were called out yesterday to put out a fire which broke out in a van that was found on fire at Sandysike, Longtown.
A spokesman for Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service said that the van was well alight when the crews arrived. Inside the vehicle were old washing machines. The firefighters used a hose reel to extinguish the fire.
The spokesman made no comment about the cause of the blaze. The spokesman confirmed that the fire was reported at 9.39am.
