A giant Chinese dragon and teddy bears were seen flying over the skies of West Cumbria at the weekend.
Children and adults alike joined in the fun at Harrington Marina's first kite festival.
The event, organised by Workington Town Council, featured professional kite displays by SmileFactor10, a fun fair and face painting.
Flying animals such as giant Chinese dragon, a 100ft gecko, a 32ft hippo and a giant manta ray could all be seen along the shore of Harrington on Saturday and Sunday.
Displays included a kite-to-music performance and children also got to enjoy teddy bear parachuting.
Around 120 children attended kite-making workshops ahead of the two day event.
Amy Johnson, events officer at the town council, said: "The workshops were really successful, we were planning less sessions but because the ones we'd put one were fully booked we decided to extend it."
At the workshops children made their own kites from scratch and were given tips as well as safety advice on how to fly them.
Children had an opportunity to fly their hand-made kites during the event.
