A sprinkling of Christmas cheer was spread around Carlisle city centre this afternoon as choirs from across Cumbria joined forces.
The choirs had come together outside the Old Town Hall to sing Christmas carols in the hope of boosting people's spirits and raising money for charity Marie Curie, which supports people and families living with a terminal illness.
The 70-strong group was made up from members of Carlisle Community Choir, Brampton Choir, Voces Choir, Cartmel Choir and the Rocky Theatre Group.
Shoppers were invited to sing along to the songs which includes Silent Night, Once in Royal David's city and Hark! The Herald Angels Sing.
Marie Curie's community fundraiser Hayley Revell said: "It's the first time we've done something like this.
"We've done collections here before but we wanted to try and turn it into a whole community event and help get people into the Christmas spirit."
