Theatre-goers will be left shouting for ‘more’ when a talented local group takes to the stage with much-loved musical Oliver!.

Whitehaven and District Amateur Operatics Society (WADAOS) performs the show at Whitehaven Civic Hall from March 14 to 18, and tickets are available now.

Playing the part of Oliver is Whitehaven youngster Oliver Jarvis for what will be his first foray into local theatre, although he has had previous experience in school plays and, latterly, with Cowper’s School of Dance, in which he took part in carnivals and other showpiece events.

Joining Oliver are a mix of newcomers and familiar faces on the local theatrical scene, including Becky Hardman and Jamie Wilson (as Nancy and Bill Sikes), Jonathon Lucas (Artful Dodger) and Stuart Evans (Fagin).

The director is Ann Simpson, joined by Tracy McOuat as choreographer and David Proud as musical director. The show begins nightly at 7.15pm and tickets are £10 (£9 concessions) from www.thelittleboxoffice.com/wadaos.
