A teenager suffered a broken jaw after being punched in the face during a late-night assault in Carlisle.
Police are investigating the incident which happened on Saturday about 10.30pm in Botchergate, outside the Shanghai Shanghai restaurant.
The victim, an 18-year-old man from the city, was taken to hospital and required surgery.
The offender is described as being a white male, aged late teens to early twenties, of a slim build, had short hair and was wearing dark trousers and a red coloured t-shirt at the time of the attack.
Police are looking for witnesses who may have seen the incident occur and who can help identify the offender.
