A man who stole a selection of meats from a West Cumbrian supermarket has landed himself in court.

Richard Musgrave, 40, of Field View, Flimby, shoplifted meat products worth £65.94 from the Co-op in Maryport on August 7.

Musgrave appeared at West Cumbria Magistrates Court and admitted the offence, which was committed while he was subject to a conditional discharge imposed for drug possession.

He was fined £45, £85 costs and a £30 for the theft offence, and must pay an additional £40 fine in respect of his original offence of possessing diazepam.
