Residents and businesses in north Cumbria experienced major issues with their Sky packages.
The company confirmed it had Talk and broadband "issues" in Brampton, Carlisle, Dalston, Longtown, Wetheral and Newton Stewart.
A separate issue was also logged affecting fibre broadband in a number of towns and villages including Crosby-On-Eden, Longtown, Southwaite, Burgh by Sands, Dalston, Canonbie, Gretna, Wigtown, Carlisle, Hayton, Roadhead, Caldbeck, Kirklinton, Rockcliffe, Annan, Eastriggs and Langholm.
Both issues were reported at about 8.05am, and at 9.10am Sky confirmed it had identified the fault and had engineers en route.
By about 1.30pm, it confirmed that engineers had resolved the problem - adding that the delay had been caused by the need to obtain a part.
The five-hour failure was a nuisance to many, but had more of an impact on people who are self-employed and rely on the internet.
@SkyHelpTeam any news on how long connection will be out in Carlisle? I work from home and an idea of how long it will be off so I can plan
