A Seaton teenager hopes to take the total she has raised for charity beyond £1,000 by completing her fourth Great North Junior Run next month.

Chloe Cattanach, 15, of Fernleigh Drive, will take part in the 4km route for nine to 16-year-olds on September 9.

She has raised more than £800 for the Finlay Fund over the three times she has already completed it.

The Keswick School pupil is running three or four times a week to prepare and hopes this time will raise even more money for a charity which is close to her heart.

The Finlay Fund was set up by Michelle and David Coulthard, also of Seaton, in memory of their son, who died in 2009.

The charity raises funds for the special care baby unit at the West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven and the neo-natal unit at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.

Chloe said: "I'm looking forward to it because I'll be raising money for charity and it's a fun day.

"It's always a really good atmosphere."

The Great North Junior Run takes place in Newcastle on September 10, the day before the main run starts in the city, which Chloe's uncle Mark Henderson will take part in.

Mark's daughter Yvaine, four, and son Grayson, three, will also complete the mini run on Saturday.
