Roxanne Pallett has given her first TV interview since leaving the Celebrity Big Brother house, admitting: "I got it wrong."

The Carlisle actress was speaking on this morning's Jeremy Vine panel show on Channel 5 where she was quizzed about the 'punching' incident and the backlash it received.

Intense debate has continued over the weekend about how she reacted to an incident involving former Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas. Roxanne, 35, walked out of the house following the controversy.

The ex-Emmerdale star said "at the time" the 'punch' from Ryan Thomas "hurt" but admitted she'd "got it wrong" about the actor's intentions.

She told Jeremy Vine she "overreacted" to the situation because her "insecurities were heightened" in the house.

"But when I looked back on that footage as soon I left the house - the first thing I did was view that clip - and I got it wrong, I really got it wrong," she added.

"After it happened I just felt like, I don't know how to explain... my mind ran away with me.

"I'm a sensitive person, my friends and family can vouch for that, everything in that house was so heightened.

"Your insecurities are heightened, your sensitivities, the only thing I can explain is it was, in the moment, it felt worse than it was."

Roxanne confessed she regrets using the word "deliberate" to describe the incident with Ryan.

She said: "I massively apologise to not just Ryan, his family, friends, his fans. Every single person who watched that and completely unjustifiably saw an overreaction to what wasn't a malicious act."

She later added: "I need to become a better person".

Roxanne will also be interviewed on tonight's show by host Emma Willis.
