Little Mix fever has struck as tickets for their Carlisle show went on sale this morning.

The world's biggest girl group will play Bitts Park on Sunday, July 16 - the day after rock legend Bryan Adams appears on the same stage.

With a huge buzz surrounding the concert announcement, the gig is expected to be one of the fastest-selling in the city's history with a sell-out 17,000 strong crowd.

Tickets for the girls' other venues have sold out within hours, and organisers predict Carlisle could follow suit.

Les Kidger, of concert promoters LCC Live, said: "We've done a number of Summer Shout shows with Little Mix and the sell-out fast. The demand is huge and always outstrips supply.

"This concert is great news for fans, great news for Carlisle and hopefully great for the economy, bringing tourists and visitors into the city as well."

The concert double-header is biggest weekend of live music since the city has seen Radio One brought Lady Gaga and The Foo Fighters to Carlisle Airport in 2011.

Tickets went on general sale via Ticketline from 9.30am, although fans were able to get their hands on them from 9am via Cumbrian Newspapers' Reader Travel team.

Ticket and travel packages are available, priced £59.95 with coaches from Aspatria, Cockermouth, Whitehaven, Distington, Workington, Maryport and Wigton.
