A COLD caller has approached an elderly man in Brampton asking for almost £10,000 to carry out roof repairs.
Police say the work was not necessary, overpriced, and it is suspected that it may not have been carried out.
It happened last Saturday and it is suspected that the same man returned to the pensioner's home a few days later.
Police advise that people do not take part in such conversations, allow strangers into their homes or be pressured into agreeing to pay for work.
