Armed robbery at By-Wise store
Cumbria police have arrested a 22-year-old man from the Whitehaven area in connection with a robbery in Workington this morning.
A man carrying a piece of wood with nails in it demanded cash from the till and fled with a small amount of money after threatening a female assistant at By-Wise, on Vulcans Lane, Workington, at 10.10am.
Detectives thanked the public for their help following the appeal. They are still urging witnesses to come forward and contact police on 101, asking to speak to DC Calvin Greaves, or Workington CID.
