Three sheep have been killed and more injured in two separate sheep worrying incidents in north Cumbria.

Police have been informed that one sheep was killed and three were hurt over the bank holiday weekend on land in the Gilsland area.

It happened between 5pm on Sunday and 9am on bank holiday Monday.

Further enquiries have uncovered that other incidents have also happened in the area over recent week.

Two more were killed a few weeks earlier on land just a few miles away from the latest incident.

Police are reminding dog walkers to keep their pets on leads at all times near livestock as sheep worrying is a criminal offence.
