A pensioner who prompted a Cumbria police missing person appeal has been found safe and well.
The alert was raised when Maureen Kendall, who is in her mid-70s and from Ingleton, did not meet a friend as arranged in Carlisle this afternoon.
Officers, fearing for her welfare, launched an appeal to find her, urging the public to call them with information.
They said this evening that she had been found safe and well.
No further details were released.
