Police are investigating after two cats in the Brampton area were allegedly poisoned by somebody with antifreeze.
One died, and the other survived after urgent treatment at a local vets, say police. The cat that died was found poisoned on September 5. The second cat was poisoned some 20 days later, on September 25.
A Cumbria Police spokeswoman said that the two poisoning incidents were too similar to be considered coincidental, or accidental.
Vets who examined both pets said they exhibited the symptoms that pointed strongly to antifreeze poisoning.
Both pets lived in the Berrymoor Road area of Brampton. Call police on 101 if you can help the investigation, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
