Officers north of the border are investigating after a shed was broken into.
Police Scotland said that thieves stole a "large number" of tools from the shed, outside a house on Silverlaw, in Annan. It happened just before 7pm on Thursday, October 19.
Police said that someone was disturbed at the shed. It was then discovered that tools - including a petrol chainsaw, a Makita grinder, a yellow coloured transformer and a DeWalt drill - had been stolen.
The items are valued at more than £800 but police have no description of the intruder.
Constable Jim Bell, based in Annan, said: "We are carrying out door to door enquiries and would ask those in the community to check their own sheds in case they too may have had a similar experience.
"We are entering the time of year where sheds are not often used and as such a break-in might lie undiscovered for a good few days or even weeks."
