Plans for a new pizza outlet have been backed by the town council.
The Sourdough Pizza Co Ltd wants to change the use of part of the former Cars of the Stars museum in Keswick.
If approved, it expects the outlet to create two full-time and five part-time jobs.
The town council voted to support the application, which will be decided by the Lake District National Park Authority.
Councillor Allan Daniels said it was encouraging to see a new business opening, while Coun Duncan Miller said the building, on Standish Street, was better occupied than empty.
Coun Paul Titley added: "The unit has been unoccupied for some time. This retains its use as an economic unit and fits in with local trade."
