A FAMOUS face delighted youngsters on the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway.

Peppa Pig returned to the railway for her second visit of the year.

As well as giving her legion of Cumbrian followers the chance to meet the children's TV star, she also held a number of storytelling events to captivate her audience.

Ashleigh Weir, visitor services supervisor, said: "It's been brilliant today and the weather's been a lot better today.

"We've got Peppa Pig here with a narrator going through stories with them and Stu-Di-Doo doing magic shows.

"They get to ride the train from Ravenglass to meet Peppa at Dalegarth so they can do their meet and greets and then they get the train back, which is nice.

"They've all really enjoyed it and everyone seems really excited."

As well as the star of the show, visitors to Dalegarth railway station on Saturday and Sunday were left stunned by magician Stu-Di-Doo, real name Stuart Hodgson.

He said: "It's been good. It's great to see so many children and so many families here.

"I've been doing some magic shows. Six shows each day for the kids and then Peppa does her meet-and-greets and storytime with them too.

"It's all been good and everyone's happy. It's a lot better weather-wise today than Saturday so that's always good for smiling faces.

"Peppa's always so popular so it's great to see so many children happy and enjoying the day."

The railway held a similar weekend with Peppa Pig earlier this year in March.
