Kenny Ollerenshaw's tattoo has gone viral - making millions of people laugh around the world.

The truck driver, of Silloth, went to Immortal Art Studio on Castle Street in Carlisle and came out with a design that has people in stitches.

Tattooist Richard Batey is the man behind the design which he describes as Automated Cybertronic Mechanical Engineering (ACME).

Mr Batey, who has worked in the car industry, said: "It's the first of its kind in the world.

"I have a good mechanical understanding from working in the car industry.

"When Kenny came in he was up for having this done as a chest piece. The result is just the start. There's a long way to go."

When Kenny moves the tattoo moves with him - which is what makes people laugh.

Mr Batey, 43, said: "It has 1.1 million views and 2million likes on Facebook - and it isn't even finished yet.

"It's what I'd call an interactive tattoo and it's more of a shocker than anything else.

"It's got the ability to make an entire room of people smile and laugh and get them talking."

The initial work took four hours and the first person Kenny showed it to when he finished was his young son.

Kenny, 36, said: "He said it was cool. I wasn't expecting it to go viral. It's all gone a bit mad. My son told my mum that I was famous.

"I keep looking at it in the mirror and thinking it's crazy. You should see what happens when I tense my pecs.

"My family are all on board with it.

"The way I look at it is if people don't like it then they don't have to wear it."

Kenny, who drives for Viv Lightfoot Haulage at Silloth, admits his first tattoo "hurt" a bit.

He said: "The first three hours were okay but the last hour hurt. I think I was running out of adrenalin. You're supposed to fuel up on sugar before you have one done but all I'd had was a couple of burgers."
