A talented Carlisle actor is the envy of his peers after landing himself an agent in the final year of his degree.

Jack McNeill, 20, has signed up with Michelle Blair Management - an artiste management company that looks after the interests of actors and actresses.

Jack, of Lowry Hill, is currently in his final year on a musical theatre degree course at the prestigious Trinity Laban Conservatoire in London.

His dad David, who runs the StagedRight Theatre School in Carlisle, said: "It's brilliant news for Jack and he's over the moon.

"It means Michelle Blair's team will be able to let him know about parts that are coming up and decide which ones are suitable for Jack."

Mr McNeill stressed how rare it is for a final year student to already have an agent.

He said: "It's something that everyone dreams about but it's hard to get.

"Jack is the only one in his year to be signed up so far.

"Even some of the people who left the course last year are still waiting for an agent.

"To get it now means they can start touting him about.

"He really wants to do musical theatre but he would never turn down a film."

Jack recently appeared in a production through his course of The Clockmaker's Daughter, which is where the talent agency spotted him.

In a tweet, Jack said: "Feeling extremely happy & grateful to have now signed with @MBManagement1"

Michelle Blair tweeted: "We're delighted to welcome Jack McNeill (@JackMcNeilll) to our client list @TrinityLaban @ClockMusical #2017Grad."
