An event in memory of former Maryport rugby player Sean Crozier raised £1,200 at the weekend.

Friends and family of the Maryport man got together on Saturday at the town's rugby club for CrozFest.

The music event raised cash for the Henderson Suite at West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven.

Mr Crozier died at the age of 27 after being diagnosed with stomach cancer.

Paul Williamson, club's committee member, said: "It was a great success and we raised £1,200 which will be sent to The Henderson Suite at West Cumberland Hospital in memory of Sean Crozier.

"The event was very well supported and it was great to see so many of Sean's family and friends there.

"Entertainment was provided by The Mayfair Suite, Broken English, Busker Ben, Rukus, HomeGrown and finished off with a storming set from The Buyers Club."

Mr Crozier, of Eaglesfield Street, died in 2015 after fighting the disease for two years.
