A man who was stabbed on a Cumbrian street has died in hospital.
The 34-year-old man had suffered life-threatening injuries during an incident in Maryport in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Police were called to Senhouse Street, at just after midnight.
The injured man, who is from the town, was taken to Carlisle's Cumberland Infirmary having suffered stab wounds but died today.
A 32-year-old Carlisle man, now living in Maryport, was arrested as part of the investigation and is now being questioned on suspicion of murder.
He is currently in police custody.
Anyone with information about this incident who has yet to come forward is urged to contact Cumbria Police as soon as possible.
